Vessel No. 68 is a hand-built stoneware vessel with a gently flared tulip form, finished primarily with Shino glaze, iron oxide, and pale ochre glaze accents. Fired to cone 10 in reduction, the Shino developed soft tonal variation, carbon trapping, and a finely crackled surface ranging from warm white and cream to smoky gray and deep brown. Subtle ochre flashes emerge where the glaze thins and overlaps, while exposed iron oxide and textured clay create a layered surface that records the movement of glaze and flame. The softly undulating rim and restrained palette emphasize the quiet complexity of atmospheric firing, allowing subtle shifts in color, texture, and material to define the piece.
