Vessel No. 67 is a hand-built stoneware vessel finished primarily with Shino glaze, accented with iron oxide, turquoise glaze, and layered reactive slips. Fired to cone 10 in reduction, the Shino developed warm tonal variation, carbon trapping. On the softly crackled surface, the glaze combination ranges from cream and pale gray to rust and dark brwon. Turquoise glaze punctuates the surface with fluid vertical runs that contrast with the earthy warmth of the Shino, while exposed iron oxide traces and fissures emphasize the vessel’s textured clay body. The heavily articulated rim captures pools of glaze, subtle blistering, and atmospheric deposits, revealing the dynamic interaction between flame, ash, and glaze during firing.
